The Boston Bruins and have agreed with their 28 year-old star center, David Krejci to a 6 year extension that is worth 43.5 million. The deal will take effect at the beginning of the 2015-16 NHL season.
A lot people are questioning whether Krejci is worth 43.5 million especially because he failed to score a goal in the 12 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season. Although Krejci did not score in the playoffs last year, he had a great regular season scoring 19 goals and 50 assists for 69 points in eighty regular season games. Now that Krejci's contract is extended, the Bruins will now along with Krejci, have Patrice Bergeron, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchard, Zdeno Chara, Dennis Seidenberg and Tuukka Rask under contracts for the next three seasons. The B's are still trying to re- sign retricted free agents Tory Krug and Reily Smith also.
Hopefully, David Krejci is ready to step up to the challenge to play better for the next regular seasons and contribute a lot to the next Bruins playoff appearances. The Bruins once again have an extremely talented team and you can expect them to make a playoff run this year and possibly make a Stanley Cup run.
